The 29th annual Hollywood Expo was held at the Avalon, with dozens of exhibitors demonstrating why Hollywood is such a unique and energetic business location.

Free monthly Mixers exclusively for Chamber members were held at some of Hollywood’s great hot spots, including Teddy’s at the Roosevelt Hotel, Lucky Strike, The Hollywood Museum at the Historic Max Factor Building, The Argyle, Lono Tiki Bar, Dream Hotel, Social, Liaison, and the Hollywood Improv.

Hollywood Hot Deals, a free service for Chamber members, was emailed monthly to 5,000 contacts in the Hollywood area, while Businesses You Need to Know, another free service to members was sent out bi-monthly.

Ribbon-cutting ceremonies, anniversaries and ground breakings were held at numerous new Chamber businesses – another free service for our members. Among the venues promoted last year were: MASH (Metropolitan Animal Specialty Hospital), 800 Degrees, Fanciful Gift Baskets, Kaiser Urgent Care Center, Massage Envy, Magic Castle, the Dream Hotel and the Tommie Hotel.

The Health Care Committee hosted two free member seminars with State Senator Ed Hernandez, the chair of the Senate Health Care Committee and on Best Practices in dealing with Homeless issues.

Free to members Tech 101 Seminars were held on cutting-edge topics like: Marketing Your Brand, the “Get-to” Principle, Employment Law on Minimum-Wage and Time-Off Policies, Online Security and How to Keep Your Company Running, and Marketing on Social Media.

The First Anniversaries Party was held on the deck of the new Everly Hotel, celebrating members who were observing important anniversaries during the year.

The Chamber sponsored its first Dodgers Night for members to network and cheer on the local team.
