Summit Will
Provide Latest Information On Hollywood

With the economy shaky and the downturn in residential real estate, a lot
of people are asking how that might be impacting
some of the developments in the Hollywood
pipeline. To find out for yourself, plan on
attending the Chamber’s 14th annual
Hollywood Economic Development Summit, next week
on Thursday, June 19 at the Arclight Cinemas.
Those attending will be the first to receive the
latest edition of the popular Chamber
publication updating the status of 75
development projects in Hollywood. This year’s
summit focuses on “Taking Hollywood to the Next
Level” and will highlight infill development
opportunities. A special interview will be held
with James M. Nederlander, Sr., the patriarch of
the Nederlander organization, who has been a
major player in Hollywood for more than 30
years. To reserve and get more information,

METRO Schedules
Hearing on Priorities
On Thursday, June 26, at 9:30 a.m., the METRO Board of Directors will be
holding a hearing on the Long Range
Transportation Plan for Los Angeles County. The
Chamber’s vice president of public policy,
Nicole Shahenian, will be present to speak on
behalf of the Chamber in support of funding for
the Westside subway extension and the completion
of the Expo Line. However, we encourage anyone
who is able to also attend the meeting and to
speak. It is important to have a strong showing
from this area since many other areas of the
county will also be lobbying for funds to be
spent in their respective areas. The hearing
will be held at the MTA headquarters downtown at
One Gateway Plaza. This is also the final stop
on the Red Line. See
attached for additional information, or
contact
Nicole.

Issue of Hollywood Shopper Receives Great Response
The
spring/summer issue of the Hollywood Shopper
went out to over 30,000 homes in the Hollywood
area and the response has been terrific!
Residents have been calling the Chamber asking
for additional copies to be mailed out, and
advertisers love the new look and feel! The
Hollywood Shopper is a fun advertising booklet
that allows Chamber members the opportunity to
get their message out to local residents. The
Shopper contains a nice variety of restaurants,
shops, and services, some even offering
discounts and freebies! If you would like more
