In Historic Move Hollywood Chamber Political Action Committee Releases First Endorsements for March 5th LA Primary Elections
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Political Action Committee (PAC) ushered in a new era this week as it released its first-ever endorsements. Endorsements were made in the following races for the March 5th LA City Primary Elections:
Eric Garcetti, for Mayor of Los Angeles
Mike Feuer, for LA City Attorney
and Mitch O’Farrell, for City Council District 13
The PAC’s endorsements follow a series of debates hosted by the Chamber and the PAC to educate the community on their choices to serve as Hollywood’s next City representatives.
"The Hollywood Chamber PAC is proud to endorse Eric Garcetti, Mike Feuer, and Mitch O’Farrell,” stated PAC Chair Sam Smith. “All three candidates have a proven record in the Hollywood business community and have fought tirelessly to create a vibrant and thriving Hollywood for residents and visitors alike. We have seen first-hand their passion and commitment for Hollywood and are pleased to provide the candidates with our full support in the March elections.”
"I am honored to have the support of the Hollywood Chamber. By working together, we've been able to create the economic revitalization and neighborhood improvements that Hollywood needed to come back. I am running for Mayor to create jobs and solve problems across Los Angeles, like we've done in Hollywood and throughout my district," said Councilman Garcetti. City Attorney Candidate Mike Feuer commented, “I really appreciate this endorsement, the Hollywood Chamber has been a key leader in the revitalization of Hollywood. Having the support of business, labor, environmentalists, and so many other important organizations demonstrates that I’ve assembled a winning coalition of groups that have tremendous influence with key constituencies throughout the City.” Read the Hollywood Chamber PAC press release endorsing Mike Feuer for City Attorney
Mitch O’Farrell, candidate for Hollywood’s own City Council District 13th also commented on the Chamber’s endorsement, “I know what it will take to make Hollywood the world class community it deserves to be and as Councilmember, people can count on my Administration to lead the way in making this happen. The Chamber and the business community in the 13th District support me not only because I have helped cut the red tape at City Hall, but because they know I am the candidate who will actually reform the way this City deals with our small business community. I will reignite our local economy as well as create and sustain local jobs.” O’Farrell added, "I am honored to have the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce PAC endorsement!” (Read the Hollywood Chamber PAC press release endorsing Mitch O'Farrell for CD13
Hollywood Chamber Political Action Committee Hosts its Inaugural Fundraiser

The Hollywood Chamber’s Political Action Committee (HCPAC) held its first fundraiser late last week. The event was held in support of Hollywood’s State Senator Curren Price (D-26) at Sunset Gower Studios in Hollywood. The event was sponsored by the California Association of Health Underwriters PAC, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, the HCPAC, Stage Café and Sunset Gower Studios.
Sen. Price has been instrumental in the Chamber’s on-going efforts to strengthen CEQA legislation and bring much needed jobs back to Hollywood. “The HCPAC leadership is thrilled at the turnout for its first-ever PAC fundraiser,” stated Sam Smith, President of the HCPAC. “Holding this reception was an important way to allow the Hollywood Business Community to thank Senator Price for his service to Hollywood.”
Curren Price was first elected to the California State Assembly in 2006 to represent the 51st District, and was re-elected by an overwhelming margin to a second term in 2008. After serving one full term in the California State Assembly, Price was elected in May 2009 to represent the 26th District in the State Senate, which includes a portion of Los Angeles, Culver City, Beverlywood, Hollywood, Koreatown, Ladera Heights, Larchmont, Leimert Park, View Park, and Vermont Hills.
Senator Price currently serves as Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Business, Professions and Economic Development where he has been a strong and consistent advocate for small business.
In order to address the on-going abuse of CEQA which has led to the loss of over 6,000 jobs in Hollywood alone, the Hollywood Chamber worked with Sen. Curren Price, Jr. to introduce SB 735, legislation that helps strengthen the timelines for judicial consideration of CEQA cases in hopes of reforming the “kill by delay” tactic.
The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber PAC will continue support elected officials that are intent on improving the business climate in Hollywood and throughout Los Angeles. Please support Hollywood’s Business Community today by clicking here.
