SONGWRITER/PRODUCER DAVID FOSTER TO BE HONORED WITH

WHAT: 2,499th Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame
in the Category of Recording
WHERE: 1750 N. Vine St. in front of the
iconic Capitol Records Building
WHEN: Friday, May 31, 2013 at 11:30 a.m.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that David Foster will be honored with the 2,499th star on the world-famous Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, May 31, 2013. “David Foster is a master at writing music and he has written songs for some of the most famous entertainers in the world!” stated Leron Gubler, President and CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. “We welcome this great artist to our Walk of Fame family.”
Gubler and guest speakers will help Foster unveil his Star in the Category of Recording at 1750 N. Vine in front of the iconic Capitol Records Building. The event will be live-streamed on www.walkoffame.com
Before he became one of the most successful record producers in history — creating albums that have collectively sold in the hundreds of millions — David Foster received a valuable piece of advice from legendary music impresario Quincy Jones. “He said to me, ‘If something isn’t exactly the way you think it should be, don’t put your name on it,’” Foster recalls. “His words of advice had a great impact on me, and since then I’ve always fought for my artistic vision. I don’t always win, but I know when an artist hires me, it’s my job to push them toward greatness, and to get something out of them they didn’t know was there. My personal motto has become, ‘compromise breeds mediocrity.’”
This philosophy has shaped the way Foster has approached everything in his more than four decades as a musician, songwriter, composer, arranger, producer and recording artist. It is the reason why superstars like Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Andrea Bocelli, Michael Bublé, Josh Groban, Rod Stewart and Stevie Wonder have trusted him with their voices and to help them realize their musical dreams.
Indeed, few other songwriters and producers have had their fingerprints on more major moments in all of popular music. Foster has created hit songs and award-winning gold and platinum albums for a diverse array of artists including Earth, Wind & Fire, Natalie Cole, Michael Bolton, Seal, Chaka Khan, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Parton, Chicago, Hall & Oates, Brandy, ’N Sync, Boz Scaggs and Gloria Estefan; propelled singers who have straddled both pop and classical styles like Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban into the mainstream; created culture-defining soundtracks for blockbuster films like The Bodyguard, Urban Cowboy and St. Elmo’s Fire; and crafted timeless holiday classics, including perennial best-sellers like Josh Groban’s Noel, Michael Bublé’s Christmas, Celine Dion’s These Are Special Times, Rod Stewart’s Merry Christmas Baby and Andrea Bocelli’s My Christmas.
For his illustrious work, Foster has won 16 Grammy Awards, including three for Producer of the Year, an Emmy Award, a Golden Globe, and racked up three Oscar nominations for “Best Original Song.” In June 2010, he was inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall Of Fame. He has also earned a reputation as a keen spotter of new talent, playing a key role in the discovery and career launches of Celine Dion, Josh Groban, and Michael Bublé, the later two he signed to his Warner Music imprint 143 Records. Bublé has called Foster “one of the most brilliant musical minds of our time.” Celine Dion says, “David hears things no other person hears,” while Josh Groban credits him with “single-handedly changing my life.” Says Foster, “I operate under the guiding principle that if I love something, millions of others will love it, too.”
In 2008 and 2011, Foster stepped out as performer in his own right as the host of “Foster & Friends” — two star-studded concert events in Las Vegas that celebrate the music from Foster’s unparalleled catalog. The shows were filmed for Great Performance on PBS and Foster’s Hit Man and The Hit Man Returns became PBS’ highest-rated pledge drive shows of the decade. He is also a household name as a performer throughout Asia where he tours annually.
In 2012 Foster entered a new phase in his career, becoming the chairman of Universal’s Verve Music Group. His mission, he says, is to turn the fabled jazz label (founded in 1956 and home to Billie Holiday, Charlie Parker, Ella Fitzgerald and other jazz luminaires) into the premier label for singing legends and legends in the making. The label’s roster includes Andrea Bocelli, Diana Krall and Natalie Cole. Foster recently signed Grammy-winning artist Sarah McLachlan and R&B-soul great Smokey Robinson. Foster also has his eye on the next generation of talent, having signed Malaysian singer Yuna and Swedish YouTube sensations Dirty Loops, a virtuoso trio who blend jazz, rock, pop, and dance music into a unique hybrid all their own. “As a musician, artist, writer and producer, I’ve been on both sides of the glass in the studio,” Foster says. “I feel like I’ve been prepping for this new job for 40 years.”
Born in Victoria, British Columbia, Foster began studying piano at age four. As the story goes, his mother was dusting the family piano, hit one of the keys, and was shocked when David correctly called out, “That’s an E!”, thus discovering he had perfect pitch. The son of a maintenance yard superintendent and a homemaker, Foster has chronicled his life in the highly regarded, best-selling autobiography Hit Man. The book is filled with page-turning, eye-opening anecdotes — from Foster joining Chuck Berry’s band at age 16 to sitting in Paul McCartney’s kitchen talking to him about the day The Beatles broke up.
Foster has made charitable work his life’s other priority. Meeting with a young girl from his hometown who was awaiting a liver transplant had a profound impact and led him to create The David Foster Foundation in 1985. Its mission is to provide financial support to Canadian families with children in need of life-saving organ transplants. In the past two decades, Foster has volunteered his time and talent to more than 400 charities, including the annual Muhammad Ali Celebrity Fight Night, The Andre Agassi Foundation and Carousel of Hope. Tapping into his vast Rolodex of friends and superstar artists, these events have raised millions of dollars for worthy causes. “My love of music has brought me many rewards, and I feel the need to give back to others less fortunate as often as possible,” Foster says.
Foster’s star will be located on Vine Street in front of the iconic Capitol Records building, adjacent to the stars of his musical heroes — John, Paul, George and Ringo — a thrill for the self-described “biggest Beatles fan on the planet.” The location is doubly meaningful as Capitol was the label that signed Foster’s band Skylark in 1971. Their hit “Wildflower” became a Top 10 hit and launched Foster on his unending road to success.
Reflecting upon receiving a star on the Walk of Fame, Foster says, “One hundred years from now, my great-grandchildren will go, ‘Hey, there’s my great-grandpa,’ and having a star next to The Beatles … outside the building where I first got signed … that’s perfect.”

Long a vital, respected actor of the classic and contemporary stage and the epitome of Mediterranean-styled weariness, this grand lady did not become a household name and sought-after film actress until age 56 when she turned in an Oscar®-winning performance asCher's sardonic mother in the romantic comedyMoonstruck(1987). Since then movie and TV fans have discovered an acting treasure. Her adaptability to various ethnicities such as Greek, Italian, Jewish, Eastern European, as well her chameleon-like versatility in everything from cutting-edge comedy to stark tragedy, has kept her in high demand for the past 30 years as of one of Hollywood's topnotch character players.
Olympia Dukakis was born on June 20, 1931, in Lowell, Massachusetts, the daughter of Greek immigrants Constantine and Alexandra Dukakis. She majored, in physical therapy at Boston University, where she graduated with a BA. She later returned to her alma mater and entered the graduate program in performing arts and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree.
Dukakis found early success by distinguishing herself first on stage performing in summer stock and with several repertory and Shakespearean companies throughout the county. She made herBroadwaydebutas an understudy in “The Aspern Papers" at age 30, followed by very short runs in the plays "Abraham Cochrane" (1964) and "Who's Who in Hell" (1974). In 1999, she premiered a one-woman play "Rose", at the National Theatre in London and subsequently on Broadway in 2000. The play earned her an Outer Critics Circle Award and Drama DeskAwardnomination and she continues to tour the country with it. Most recently she was seen on the New York stage in the Roundabout Theatre’s production of “The Milktrain Doesn’t Stop Here Anymore” (2011), in San Francisco in A.C.T.’s production of “Vigil” (2011) and as “Prospera” in “The Tempest” (2012) at Shakespeare & Co. She has performed in more than 130 productions Off-Broadway and regionally at theatres including the Public Theatre, A.C.T., Shakespeare in the Park, Shakespeare & Co. and the Williamstown Summer Theatre Festival, where she also served as Associate Director. She will be seen again at Shakespeare & Co. in the summer of 2013 as the title role in “Mother Courage and Her Children.”
Dukakis married Yugoslav-American actorLouis Zorichin 1962. The New York-based couple went on to co-found the Whole Theatre Company in Montclair, New Jersey, and ran the company for 19 years from 1971 to 1990. As an actress, director, producer and teacher, she still found the time to raise their three young children. She also became a master instructor at New York University for 14 years. She scored theater triumphs in "A Man’s a Man," for which she won an Off-BroadwayObie Awardin 1962; several productions of "The Cherry Orchard" and "Mother Courage;" "Six Characters in Search of an Author;" "The Rose Tattoo;" "The Seagull;" "The Marriage of Bette and Boo" (another ObieAward); and, more notably, her many performances as the title role in "Hecuba." A good portion of her success was launched within the walls of her own theater company, which encouraged the birth of new and untried plays. Her prolific directing credits include many of the classics: "Orpheus Descending," "The House of Bernarda Alba," "Uncle Vanya" and "A Touch of the Poet," as well as the more contemporary "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" and "Kennedy's Children". She also adapted such plays as "Mother Courage" and "The Trojan Women" for the theater company. Over the duration of their marriage, she and her husband have experienced shared successes, appearing together in "Long Day's Journey Into Night," "Camino Real, "The Three Sisters" and "The Seagull," among many others. Both are master interpreters of Chekhovian plays, and one of their more recent acting collaborations was in "The Chekhov Cycle" in 2003.
Making an inauspicious debut in a bit role as a mental patient in Lilith (1964), Dukakis tended to gravitate toward off-the-wall films with various offshoots of the ethnic mother. She played mom to such leads as Dustin Hoffman in John and Mary (1969), Joseph Bologna in the cult comedy Made for Each Other (1971) and Ray Sharkey in The Idolmaker (1980). Interestingly, it was her scene-stealing work on Broadway in the comedy "Social Security" (1986) that caught director Norman Jewison’s eye and earned her the Moonstruck (1987) movie role. The Academy Award win for Best Supporting Actress was the last of a stream of awards she earned for that part, including the American Comedy Award, Los Angeles Film Critics Award and Golden Globe Award. From then on, silver-haired Olympia was first in line for a number of roles: Steel Magnolias (1989), Dad (1989), Look Who's Talking (1989), The Cemetery Club (1993), Mr. Holland's Opus (1995) and Mother (1995). Her most recent film, Cloudburst (2011), has been a critical and audience darling, winning her several Best Actress awards and over 40 plus awards for Best Film at various film festivals around the world.
On TV, Dukakis received high praise especially for her sympathetic transgendered landlady in the acclaimed miniseries "Tales of the City" (1993) and its sequels “More Tales of the City” (1998) and “Further Tales of the City” (2001). She was additionally seen in episodes of “Bored to Death” (2011-2012),and TV movies “Last of the Blond Bombshells” (2000), “Sinatra”(1992) and “Joan of Arc” (1999). This work is among more than 40 other series, mini-series and guest starring roles she has accumulated over her long career.
Dukakis is a strong advocate of women’s rights and environmental causes. Olympia published her best-selling autobiography "Ask Me Again Tomorrow: A Life in Progress" in 2003, an introspective chronicle full of her trademark candor and wry humor. She is also a figure on the lecture circuit covering topics as widespread as life in the theater to feminism, Alzheimer’s, Diabetes and Osteoporosis. She has received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Greek America Foundation and the National Arts Club Medal of Honor.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce proudly announces that they will honor the award-winning Steve Harvey with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. “Steve is a man of many talents!” said Leron Gubler, President/CEO of the Hollywood Chamber. “We are thrilled that he is joining our Walk of Fame family,” he added.
From stand-up comedy to TV, radio, books and the movies, Steve Harvey has established a multi-faceted entertainment and media career since his beginnings doing stand-up in the mid-1980s. His career has continued to flourish, from an award-winning stint hosting It’s Showtime at the Apollo, and the record-breaking Kings of Comedy tour, to becoming a top-rated radio host, producer, entrepreneur, best-selling author, popular game show host on Family Feud, and 2013 People’s Choice Award winner as “Favorite New Talk Show Host” for his new daytime show Steve Harvey.
In September of 2000, Rushion McDonald and Steve Harvey created the nationally syndicated Steve Harvey Morning Show, which currently airs Monday through Friday, 6 to 10 a.m. EST with nearly 70 radio stations and approximately 6 million weekly listeners. Syndicated by Premiere Networks since 2005 and also available online, the No. 1 rated show features inspirational advice, comedy segments, interviews, listener segments, as well as the popular “Strawberry Letter” segment, where Harvey responds to listeners’ relationship questions. Harvey has also released two books, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, and Straight Talk, No Chaser, which have sold millions of copies worldwide and hit No. 1 on the New York Times Best Sellers List.
On television, in addition to a seven-year stint hosting Apollo, he starred in ABC’s Me and The Boys, the WB shows The Steve Harvey Show for six seasons and Steve Harvey’s Big Time Challenge for two seasons, and Centric’s The Steve Harvey Project, which showcased Harvey and his Steve Harvey Morning Show co-hosts.
Harvey is currently hosting his third season of the long-running syndicated game show Family Feud. Since Season 14 premiered on September 10, 2012, Family Feud has been soaring to record-high ratings. Harvey’s memorable reactions and hilarious rapport with the competing families have been widely praised, and ratings continue to surge and smash records since his debut as the new host in September 2010.
On September 4, 2012, Harvey debuted his new syndicated daytime show Steve Harvey, which combines Harvey’s humor and discussions of everyday life covering relationships, parenting, the workplace, everyday heroes and a range of other topics with guests and the audience. The show has been a phenomenon in all key ratings benchmarks, becoming one of the most successful new first-run syndication launches in the past decade.
Harvey has also hit the big screen in movies such as The Original Kings of Comedy, Love Don’t Cost a Thing, You Got Served, Johnson Family Vacation, Madea Goes to Jail, and the No. 1 box office smash Think Like A Man, which was adapted from his first book. The 2012 release quickly made box office history, which features Harvey as himself in the movie and as one of the executive producers.
Born in West Virginia, Harvey was raised in Ohio as the youngest of five children. Long dedicated to philanthropy, Steve Harvey believes that “dreaming is more important than anything.” Harvey, who together with wife Marjorie are parents of seven children, continue their unending pursuit to further uplifting, educational opportunities through The Steve & Marjorie Harvey Foundation, with mentoring programs and other initiatives serving young men and women. Harvey will also host the upcoming Neighborhood Awards, the 11th year of the popular community awards show which he created with co-producer Rushion McDonald to honor the nation’s community leaders, educators, religious and business establishments for their service and uplifting their neighborhoods. A man that lives life to its fullest, thanks God for every new day, and always believes in the power of a dream – the future shows no signs of slowing down in the life of Steve Harvey.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor local Los Angeles radio personality, “Shotgun Tom” Kelly with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 30, 2013. His star will be unveiled at 7080 Hollywood Boulevard, next to the star of the late Real Don Steele, who formerly hosted the afternoon program on K-Earth 101. The star ceremony coincides with Kelly’s 40th anniversary in Radio.
“The voice of “Shotgun Tom” Kelly has entertained us for many years,” said Leron Gubler, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. “He constantly presents good radio and introduces us to some of the most memorable songs ever!”
Emcee Gubler and guest speakers Stevie Wonder and Jhani Kaye, K-Earth 101 Program Director will help “Shotgun Tom” unveil the 2,496th Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Category of Radio.
"Shotgun Tom" Kelly was born in San Diego. One day, at the age of 10, after school, his mother LA Von Irwin said, "Tommy, there’s a man on the radio, broadcasting from a shopping center and he is talking to people on the air. You should go down and see if he'll put you on the radio." So, Tom did what his mother asked him to. He hopped onto his bike and went to see the man on the radio. The announcer was in a trailer. Tom peered through the window, watched the man play records and speaking into a microphone. The Disc Jockey saw Tom, invited him in, and interviewed him live on the air! Tom was so impressed with that experience; he went home and built his own mock radio station in his bedroom, with two record players and a microphone!
Tom started to visit other radio stations and watch those announcers doing their shows. One radio announcer, who just happened to be the Program Director of the station, called then 13 year old Tom into his office. He wanted a teenager’s opinion on a new song he was going to add to the playlist. Tom indicated he liked the song. That record was "California Dreaming" by the Mama's and the Papa's. After that, the Program Director asked Tom if he would like to work at the station. Tom immediately replied “YES!" That man who gave Tom his first job at a radio station is Sonny Jim Price.
Throughout a distinguished career of entertaining radio and television audiences across America, "Shotgun Tom" Kelly has been honored with prestigious awards, worked alongside civic leaders and contributed his time and talents to numerous community cases.
This year, "Shotgun Tom" Kelly celebrates 16-years in Los Angeles radio and anchors the highly-rated afternoon drive shift at CBS Radio's K-EARTH 101 (KRTH-FM). He previously performed at legendary San Diego radio stations KGB, KCBQ and B-100 and has been feted many times by radio's most respected trade publications, Billboard Magazine and Radio & Records, as the best air personality in the country.
"Shotgun Tom" has also been recognized for his work in front of the TV camera hosting popular children’s programs such as the nationally-syndicated "Words-a-Poppin," and "Kids Club," which ran for twelve seasons. He has won multiple Emmy Awards as Outstanding Host. His voice has long been featured in national TV and radio commercials. He also appeared in the Motion Picture "Déjà Vu" with Denzel Washington. Most recently, “Shotgun Tom” is the narrator of the world-wide TV show “A 1000 Ways to Die,” and the voice of “America’s Most Wanted.”
Most fulfilling to "Shotgun Tom" are his contributions to community causes, particularly his longtime involvement with the MDA Labor Day Telethon for Muscular Dystrophy, the Bob Hope USO and the L.A. Police Department's "Cops for Tots" campaign benefiting Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

Star ceremony will be live streamed on www.walkoffame.com

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce that the Backstreet Boys will be honored with a star on the world-famous Hollywood Walk of Fame on April 22, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. “Fans from around the world have been waiting for this big day since the Backstreet Boys’ selection was announced in 2012.” stated Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies. “We expect a big crowd of enthusiastic fans right here at 7072 Hollywood Boulevard! The star will be next to the star of another popular boy band Boyz II Men.”
Emcee Leron Gubler, President & CEO of the Hollywood Chamber or Commerce and guest speaker Max Martin, plus a special BSB fan, will help the Backstreet Boys unveil the 2,495th Star in the Category of Recording at 7072 Hollywood Boulevard near the Live Nation Building.
“Backstreet Boys fans who can’t make it to the star ceremony can watch their favorite band LIVE on www.walkoffame.com!” said Martinez.
Making history remains second nature for Backstreet Boys.
"The multi-platinum pop-powerhouse has solidified itself as the biggest and best-selling boy band in history with sales exceeding 130 million albums worldwide. Meanwhile, they're also one of the only music artists to release seven consecutive albums in the top 10 of the Billboard Top 200.
Two decades into their career, AJ McLean, Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, Kevin Richardson and Nick Carter are as strong as ever, and they're not stopping!"
They initially formed in 1993 and began turning heads with their self-titled first album in 1996. Driven by the single "Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)," Backstreet Boys instantly became pop stars. Superstar status soon followed with the release of their 1997 effort Backstreet's Back and a RIAA diamond certification for their debut—placing them in an elite club with Michael Jackson, The Beatles, and Billy Joel. Closing out the century with a bang, Millennium set the record for first-week sales in the United States at the time, moving 1.1 million units in merely seven days.
At the 1999 Billboard Music Awards, the band won the highest honors of "Artist of the Year," "Album Artist of the Year," "Album Artist Duo/Group of the Year" and "Album of the Year" for Millennium.
Backstreet Boys upped the ante higher for 2000. They kicked off the year gracing the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine, while Black & Blue topped their previous record and sold more than 1.6 million copies during release week. One month later, it was certified eight-times platinum. The subsequent tour grossed revenue of more than $100 million. Backstreet Boys released in 2005 Never Gone whichalso went platinum, thus continuing their bona fide hot streak and once again proving their staying power. In the meantime, they enjoyed high-profile collaborations with everyone from Elton John to Sting.
Their hits include such songs as Quit Playing Games (with my heart), I Want it That Way, Everybody (Backstreet’s Back), As Long As You Love Me and many more.
Kevin Richardson left the band in 2006 to pursue acting. During this time Backstreet Boys continued as a quartet and released two albums, Unbreakable and This Is Us. Both albums debuted Top 10 on the Billboard 200 charts and have since become fan favorites.
In 2010, Backstreet Boys took to the high seas for the inaugural Backstreet Boys Cruise. The S.S. Backstreet Boys has become an annual adventure that strengthens their bond with fans. One of pop's biggest moments occurred when Backstreet Boys historically merged with New Kids on the Block forming 2011's supergroup NKOTBSB and selling out arenas full of screaming fans worldwide.
This year marks 20 years of Backstreet Boys! With Kevin Richardson returning to the band, the Backstreet Boys will release new music and a new tour with the original five member lineup. The band has put together a 20th Anniversary Fan Celebration that will take place at the Fonda Theatre on April 20th – just a day before the group is honored their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The celebration is an event for fans around the world and is just one of the many ways the guys will thank their fans over the next 12 months. For more information visit, Backstreetboys.com http://Backstreetboys.com
The Backstreet Boys are involved with the numerous charities such as Angels Clinic Foundation, Brian Littrell’s Healthy Heart Club for Kids, Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, Dorough Lupus Foundation, Lupus LA, Make A Wish Foundation, True Colors Fund, UNICEF, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Convention on Migratory Species (CMS), and VH1’s Save the Music.
There's more Backstreet Boys history to be made. We’re still living in the Backstreet Boys' Millennium.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce is prepping for a magical day on the Walk of Fame when magicians Penn & Teller will be honored with the 2,494th star on the famed Walk of Fame. “We selected the perfect spot for the star,” stated Ana Martinez, Walk of Fame Producer. “It will be unveiled at 7003 Hollywood Boulevard just steps away from the star of legendary Houdini and right down the street from the historic The Magic Castle!”
The Magic Castle, which is celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year, will be honoring Penn & Teller the following day on Saturday, April 6th with the coveted "Magicians of the Year" Award.
Gubler and guest speakers David Copperfield, Trey Parker and Matt Stone will help the duo Penn & Teller unveil the 2,494th Star in the Category of Live Performance at 7003 Hollywood Boulevard down the street from the historic The Magic Castle.
“Fans can watch the thrill LIVE on www.walkoffame.com!” said Martinez.
For more than 35 years, Penn & Teller have defied labels—and at times physics and good taste-- by redefining the genre of magic and inventing their own distinct niche in comedy.
The duo have been performing together since the late 1970s. With sold-out runs on Broadway, world tours, Emmy-winning TV specials, and hundreds of outrageous appearances on everything from Letterman to Leno, Friends to The Simpsons, Chelsea Lately to Top Chef, This comedy team show no signs of slowing down.
With an amazing six wins, as “Las Vegas Magicians of the Year,” Penn & Teller’s 10-year run at The Rio All-Suite Las Vegas Hotel & Casino makes them one of the longest-running and most-beloved shows in Las Vegas history, outselling every other resident magician on the Strip.
Their acclaimed Showtime series, “Penn & Teller: BS!” was nominated for 13 Emmys and is the longest-running series in the history of the network. The show tackled the fakes and frauds behind such topics as alien abduction, psychics, and bottled water. Their newest television venture, “Penn & Teller Tell A Lie” for the Discovery Channel premiered in October 2012. Penn is currently showing his business-savvy on the new season of NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice.”
In the UK, Penn & Teller have recently completed the first series of their highly-lauded return to British television, “Penn & Teller: Fool Us!” The show is about up-and-comers and magic veterans who try to fool Penn & Teller for a chance to star in the duo’s hit Las Vegas show.
Along the way, Penn & Teller have written three New York Times best-sellers; hosted their own Emmy-nominated variety show for FX; starred in their own Emmy-winning specials for ABC, NBC and Comedy Central; and produced the critically-lauded feature film documentary The Aristocrats.
As individuals, they are just as prolific! Teller directed a version of Macbeth which toured the east coast to raves from the New York Times and Wall Street Journal. He has also written two books. Penn has written three books, including the 2011 New York Times best-seller, “God No!”hosted the NBC game show Identity, and donned his ballroom shoes for the 2008 season of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars.
With such inclusions as in the New York Times Crossword Puzzle, as answers on Jeopardy and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, Penn & Teller have sealed their status as cultural icons and the preeminent duo in the history of comedy. Their well-deserved acclaim was once again reinforced when singer Katy Perry asked them to co-star in the video for her No. 1 song, “Waking Up in Vegas.”
