History was made with the Largest Gathering of Walk of Famers in One Room At One Time
NOVEMBER 2, 2010-The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce threw a huge celebration for the Hollywood Walk of Fame’s 50th Birthday on Wednesday, November 3. The event began at 6:30 p.m. with a time capsule dedication at the corner of Hollywood and Highland next to Joanne Woodward’s star, one of the very first eight stars placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Leron Gubler officiated. Participating in the event were five celebrities who represent the five disciplines of the Walk of Fame. Diane Ladd, represents Motion Pictures, Bob Barker for Television, KLOS radio personality Jim Ladd for Radio, Roger Willliams for Recording, and Mickey and Jan Rooney representing the Live Theatre category.
Nearly 90 esteemed Walk of Famers were in attendance. “In the history of the Walk of Fame, this is the first time that we will have so many of our recipients in one place at one time! Our late Walk of Fame Chairman, Johnny Grant would have been so proud of this special night in Hollywood!” stated Leron Gubler, Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President/CEO.
After the ceremony, invited guests were led to the party, held in the famed Governor’s Ballroom and catered by Wolfgang Puck. 90 Walk of Famers walked the Red Carpet at approximately 7:15 p.m. and then proceeded into a special room to be exclusively photographed for an historic, once-in-a-lifetime photo, shot by famed celebrity photographer Harry Langdon. Guests enjoyed the festivities as they watched the historic photo unfold on big screens.
Presenting sponsor L’Oréal Paris created a special edition Colour Riche lipstick called Walk of Fame Pink #50 which was created especially for the occasion and will be gifted to all guests.
