Now accepting Nominations for Heroes of Hollywood 2019

The Annual Heroes of Hollywood luncheon recognizes outstanding individuals, businesses, and non-profit organization that have made extraordinary contributions to the Hollywood community. The Heroes of Hollywood Awards recognize exceptional leaders in the Hollywood community who have transformed the lives of others and/or have made a remarkable contribution to the physical environment. Since 1993 the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation has saluted more than 125 extraordinary leaders from Hollywood, through what was previously named the Women of Distinction Awards.

Since 2011, the awards have honored both male and female leaders, as well as families, businesses and organizations. The awards ceremony serves as one of two major fundraisers for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to improving the lives of Hollywood community members. All funds raised from this luncheon will be awarded in the form of grants to local charitable organizations. “Heroes of Hollywood” Awards Committee is comprised of members of the Hollywood Chamber who are volunteers and have proven to be community leaders themselves.

The awards ceremony serves as one of two major fundraisers for the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to improving the lives of Hollywood community members. All funds raised from this luncheon will be awarded in the form of grants to local charitable organizations. “Heroes of Hollywood” Awards Committee is comprised of members of the Hollywood Chamber who are volunteers and have proven to be community leaders themselves.

More than 400 of Hollywood’s dignitaries, business community and civic leaders attended the annual Heroes of Hollywood Awards Luncheon on Thursday, May 31st presented by the Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce Community Foundation at the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood. Net proceeds from this annual fundraiser goes back to the local community in the form of grants. Returning Co-chairs Carole Sarian of The CrisCom Company and Cindy Braun of Braun Consulting welcomed guests and thanked the community for contributing in this fundraiser which goes back to Hollywood organizations in the form of grants. Our auctioneer was the talented Carolyn Hennesy, Emmy Award winning actress, writer, and conservationist advocate, who masterfully helped raise about $6000 from the auction. The program proceeded with the awards honoring our exceptional leaders for this year who have made a difference in the Hollywood community. George Pennacchio, the entertainment reporter for ABC7 Eyewitness News and host of the station’s Oscars specials, returned as Emcee of the annual award. Television actress, singer, and model Diahann Carroll was recognized with the 2018 Mary Pickford Award. “The Man of a Thousand Voices,” Rich Little, was honored with The Distinguished Service Award in Memory of Johnny Grant. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation honored the 2018 Heroes of Hollywood: Fabio Conti & Chiara Santi, CEO & CFO, Conti Santi Properties; David Green, Sr. Vice President/CFO of Pantages Theatre- Nederlander West Coast; Amy Lemisch, Executive Director of California Film Commission; John Tronson, Principal at Avison Young Commercial Real Estate. The Foundation appreciates the generosity and support in sponsorship of these businesses. Hollywood Chamber Community Foundation honors Heroes of Hollywood 2017 at Taglyan Complex

The Heroes Of Hollywood Awards luncheon presented by the Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce Community Foundation honored community leaders on June 1st at the Taglyan Cultural Complex. More than 400 people attended the annual fundraiser. The 2017 Heroes of Hollywood Awards luncheon honored Hollywoodian Beatrice Girmala, Assistant Chief or Los Angeles Police Department; John Lyons, owner of the Avalon; Hollywood’s favorite Pink’s Hot Dogs, and Baydsar Thomasian, Deputy District Director, Office of President Pro Tempore Kevin de Leon. ‘Entertainment Tonight’ Host Nancy O’Dell was recognized with the Mary Pickford Award. This prestigious award is given to a celebrity who has made a difference in the entertainment industry and the Hollywood community. Founder and Owner of the Hollywood Museum Donelle Dadigan with the Distinguished Service Award in Memory of Johnny Grant making history by being the first woman to be recognized with the Johnny Grant award. Returning for another year in their roles as Co-chairs were Carol Sarian and Cindy Braun. ABC Entertainment guru George Pennachio served as celebrity Emcee. Hollywood’s community gathered to honor five outstanding Heroes at the annual Heroes of Hollywood Award Luncheon at Taglyan Cultural Complex on Wednesday, May 11, 2016. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation honored Jeff Briggs, Founder of Briggs Law; Jackie Lawson, Neighborhood Prosecutor Hollywood Division, City Attorney’s Office; Anastasia Mann, President of the Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council; Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, not-for-profit pediatric health care provider; The Gilmore Family, pioneer developers of The Original Farmers Market at 3rd and Fairfax. Actress, singer, activist, author and producer Nichelle Nichols was honored with the distinguished 2016 Mary Pickford Award during the Heroes of Hollywood Awards Luncheon. Returning in his role as emcee was once again Robert Kovacik, anchor and reporter of NBC4 Southern California. Hollywood Chamber Community Foundation Honored Actress Diane Ladd, Councilman Tom LaBonge, and Community Leaders with Heroes Of Hollywood Awards 2015

The Hollywood Chamber Community Foundation honored the 2015 Heroes of Hollywood last week at the Taglyan Cultural Complex. Actress Diane Ladd was honored with the prestigious Mary Pickford award. Her daughter actress Laura Dern accepted the award on behalf of Ladd. Councilmember Tom LaBonge (CD4) was honored with the Distinguished Service Award in Memory of Johnny Grant. The Foundation also recognized the following Heroes: Christopher Barton of Hudson Pacific Properties, Inc.; Jane Lopez of Trailer Park; FilmL.A., Inc.; and St. Anne’s. Returning in his role as emcee again was Robert Kovacik, anchor of NBC4. The Hollywood Chamber Community Foundation honored the incomparable Judge Judy Sheindlin with the 2014 Mary Pickford Award at the Heroes of Hollywood Awards Luncheon on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at The Taglyan Cultural Complex in Hollywood. Foundation Chairperson Heather Cochran and Heroes of Hollywood event co-chairs Homer Alba and Cindy Braun also honored the 2014 Heroes of Hollywood: Jeff Anthony, Iron Mountain Entertainment Services; Denise DeCarlo and Betty Fraser, co-owners of As You Like It Catering and the restaurant Grub; Jackie Goldberg, Senior Star Power Productions; Hollywood Arts Council, a non-profit dedicated to the arts in Hollywood; Starline Tours, Hollywood’s oldest sightseeing tour company; and Marc Wanamaker, principal officer at Bison Archives. THE 2013 HEROES OF HOLLYWOOD AWARDS CEREMONY

The Hollywood Chamber Community Foundation honored the 2013 Heroes of Hollywood at a Luncheon on Thursday, June 6, at the Taglyan Cultural Complex, 1201 Vine St. in Hollywood, 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to recognizing our various heroes, the Foundation honored legendary singer and actress Debbie Reynolds with the distinguished Mary Pickford Award. Returning in his role was emcee again is Robert Kovacik, co-anchor of NBC4. The Hollywood Chamber Community Foundation honored these 2013 Heroes of Hollywood: George Abou-Daoud of Bowery Street Enterprises; Craig Darian of Tricor Entertainment; Bill Farrar of Andrews International; Milt Larsen of The Magic Castle; Stormy Sacks of Hollywood High School Performing Arts Center; and My Friend’s Place. In addition to recognizing Heroes of Hollywood, the Foundation honored legendary singer and actress Debbie Reynolds with the distinguished Mary Pickford Award. During the ceremony, Leron Gubler was honored for his dedication long-time service to the community and the Hollywood Chamber. The Hollywood Chamber Community Foundation presented the first annual Heroes of Hollywood Awards Luncheon at the Taglyan Cultural Complex on Friday, June 3rd. Radio talk show host and comedienne Stephanie Miller emceed the luncheon. Carol Channing was honored with the Mary Pickford award.
