Promoting Hollywood
The Chamber’s high profile Tourism Department works
closely with local, city and state agencies to
encourage tourism, both outside and within the
Hollywood and Los Angeles area.
Monthly Tourism Committee meetings provide inside
information on topics and issues important to
Hollywood’s tourism industries. Guest speakers and
presentations by industry leaders keep members
informed of cutting-edge trends and opportunities.
The Chamber’s Tourism Department represents
Hollywood at travel industry conventions and trade
shows to maximize exposure for Hollywood. Tourism
Missions have included EXPO Vacaciones in Mexico
City, the annual California Travel Industry
Association convention, GLAMER trade shows, the
California Conference on Tourism, and Cal-Poly’s So.
Cal. Tourism Conference
The Chamber sponsors Familiarization Seminars to
brief local businesses, media and tourism writers on
new attractions and tourism related businesses in
Hollywood.
The Chamber publishes a Mature Marketing Directory
which is mailed to more than 1,000 senior
organizations, attracting the senior market to visit
Hollywood.
The Chamber’s Tourism Committee organizes
collaboration efforts to allow Hollywood’s tourism
businesses to pool their resources to benefit and
promote Hollywood and their businesses.
The Hollywood Christmas Parade, produced by the
Chamber, is a treasured Hollywood tradition seen by
a large television audience and thousands of local
attendees each year.
Administered by the Chamber, the world-renowned
Hollywood Walk of Fame continues to honor
internationally recognized celebrities, affording
worldwide publicity for the community with more than
20 ceremonies a year. No other chamber in the nation
comes close to generating the publicity that the
Hollywood Chamber does.
The Chamber’s annual Academy Awards Media
Information Center briefs press from all over the
world on what is happening in Hollywood, and is used
to distribute Chamber member information and
literature. |
